Dramatic footage of a DLR station being churned apart by flood water has emerged this evening (July 25) as infrastructure links in the city are further hampered by the weather.

The footage, which was captured by pedestrian Rob Day, shows Pudding Mill station in Stratford being ripped apart by incredible levels of water.

The speed and ferocity of the water makes for compelling if not shocking viewing and is a stark reminder of the danger of flooding.

The incident is just the latest in a day of extreme weather conditions in the capital.

The day began with the news that several shoppers in Camberwell had become stranded due to rising water levels along Camberwell New Road.

In Hackney Wick, bemused pedestrians were left in need of a boat after flooding decimated the street outside the station.

Aveling Park Road in Walthamstow has also been hit particularly hard with many cars now wheel deep in water.

Meanwhile it has been a day of chaos on the roads with cars becoming stuck and the Metropolitan Police closing roads.
