Before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry she began her career as a model.
Ever since that relationship became public the 39-year-old has never been far from the headlines.
Meghan has certainly had an interesting journey on the way to marrying royalty.
One of her early jobs was as a model on gameshow Deal or No Deal in the US between 2006 and 2007.
The actress appeared on 34 episodes of the show as a glamorous model.
The star carried briefcase number 24 a while before her acting career took off by starring in drama Suits which made her a household name.
Deal or No Deal is famous in the United Kingdom for the serious money the show’s contestants are able to win.
But Deal or No Deal in America is known to be much more glamorous and glitzy compared to its British counterpart.
In the UK, contestants were made to open boxes for their fellow competitors but in America, stunning models like Meghan did the honours of opening the box for the contestants.
In fact, the American version of the program included big names such as Chrissy Teigen and Laura Shields as “briefcase girls”, who opened cases containing sums between one cent and $1 million.
No wonder Meghan Markle was chosen to be part of the show given her looks.
British model Laura Shields, who featured alongside Meghan, spoke to Sri Lankan magazine HI! about how good a time she had with Meghan.
She said: “Meghan Markle was very sweet and quiet and we would chat and relax on breaks.
“Everyone I met was nice. I wish I had some better stories for you!”
Who would have imagined that a model on the US Deal or No Deal would go on to marry a member of the British Royal Family.
Markle’s journey to stardom has certainly been long and interesting.
