ory leadership candidate Tom Tugendhat has declared the party needs a “clean start” after three years of Boris Johnson’s premiership.
Ahead of tonight TV debate, Mr Tugendhat gave an interview to BBC’s Sunday Morning programme.
The Tory contender said it was clear the Prime Minister’s account of the “partygate” scandal was “rather more fictional than reality”.
He said: “What we need to see is a clean start. That is the most essential issue. In two years’ time we are going to be facing Keir Starmer in a general election.
