As part of its social responsibility and in order to help Philanthropic Institutions, João Baptista Borges responded on Thursday, August 27, to the appeal of the reception center for disadvantaged people located in Palanca in Luanda, called “PADRE HORÁCIO”, facing enormous difficulties in paying electricity and water bills as a result of the current socio-economic situation of our country. which is facing enormous difficulties in the payment of electricity and water bills as a result of the current socio-economic situation of our country.
Having restored the supply of drinking water through the public network, the Ministry of Energy and Water is now working with EPAL and ENDE, in order to count on their flexibility in dealing with the enormous debt of water and electricity consumption that the Center has contracted and which it cannot pay at this time because it stopped receiving contributions from its traditional donors some time ago.
MINEA’s solidarity support to the Padre Horacio Center was expressed today by Minister Baptista Borges, during his visit to that charity institution, dedicated to the rehabilitation of drug addicts and helpless teenagers.
Touched by the testimonies of the people in charge of the institution also called Arnaldo Jassen, located in the main street of Palanca, the Minister, João Baptista Borges, guarantees to grant some vacancies in the Center of Electricity Training, assigned to his Ministry, to the young people received by the Center.
According to the minister, the visit is part of MINEA’s Social Agenda, which includes support to the neediest communities.
In his visit to the Priest Horacio Center, Minister João Baptista Borges, included in his delegation the PCAs from ENDE and EPAL.
Remember that this charity institution has existed for over twenty-seven years, housing over seventy children and young people from seven to twenty-five years.
