A murder investigation has been launched in West London after a pensioner was found stabbed to death inside a home.
The victim, a woman believed to be aged in her 70s, was found with stab injuries inside a property in St Luke’s Road, Notting Hill on Saturday afternoon (August 14).
Police officers and paramedics rushed to the address at 2.10pm, but despite best efforts the woman was pronounced dead shortly before 3pm.
“Her next of kin have been informed,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

“A man – aged in his 20s – was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to hospital for treatment to a minor injury.
“No reports of any other injuries.”
According to the Met Police a crime scene is in place, and detectives are trying to figure out what happened.
