The families of the Queen’s cousins are usually faded into obscurity, except for at times of huge events or national celebrations.
Whether it is the relatives of the Duke of Gloucester, Prince Michael of Kent or Princess Alexandra, it is highly likely that the average person would not be able to name any member of their family.
But one young royal, Maud Windsor – who is also a cousin and school friend of Prince George and Princess Charlotte- has a very famous mum and you will recognise her for her work in everything from Peep Show to Two and a Half Men.

Sophie Winkleman was born in Primrose Hill, London on August 5, 1980 to Cindy Black and Barry Winkleman, she is also the half-sister of TV presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star, Claudia Winkleman.

Sophie is an actress who has appeared in everything from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to ITV’s crime drama, Death in Paradise.
On September 12, 2009, she married the son of Prince Michael of Kent, Lord Frederick Windsor at Hampton Court Palace.
Following their wedding, the couple moved to the US so that Sophie could further pursue her acting career.
While living in California, their first daughter, Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor, was born in 2013. Maud is the great-granddaughter of Prince George, Duke of Kent , as well as a great-great granddaughter of King George V.

The couple later moved back to the UK and welcomed their second daughter, Isabella Alexandra May Windsor, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on January 16, 2016.
Sophie became the new royal patron of Children’s Surgery Foundation and later became the first female patron of School-Home Support.
As Lady Frederick Windsor, she has been pictured standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony at national events, such as Trooping the Colour.

She was also a guest at the 2011 wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as at the 2019 wedding of her sister-in-law Lady Gabriella Windsor.
Speaking to Daily Mail’s Sebastian Shakespeare, Sophie even revealed that she sang at Lady Gabriella’s wedding.
