Two boys aged 14 have been arrested after a Chingford dad was stabbed to death defending his daughter.
James Markham, 45, was stabbed in the lung on Monday (August 9) at around 6.20pm after confronting a group of youths in Churchill Terrace.
Paramedics tried to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

James’s family are said to be ‘devastated’ and police are still searching for a number of other people they believe were present during the attack.
Detective Inspector John Marriott, of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, urged parents who knew their children were present to ‘do the sensible thing’ and come forward.

He said: “We believe that James confronted a group of youths causing a disturbance and was stabbed as a result.
“The brutality of this response is beyond shocking and our thoughts are with James’ family who has been left devastated by their loss.
“The arrests of these two individuals is a significant development but we still need the public’s help to build a full picture of exactly what happened on Monday evening.
“A dedicated team of officers is working to piece together the tragic circumstances that led to this murder and to bring those responsible to justice.”
The two teenagers remain in custody at an East London police station.
