Eamonn Holmes revealed the wonderful news that he has become a grandad for the first time.

The presenter revealed the news alongside wife and co-host Ruth Langsford during Tuesday’s (20 July) edition of This Morning.

In April, the 61-year-old revealed his son and daughter-in-law were expecting.

Sharing the news, he said at the start of the ITV show: “Some things have changed since I last saw you yesterday, and that is…”

Ruth then chimed in, singing: “You’re a granddad.”

The This Morning crew then applauded as Eamonn shared more details on the new addition to the Holmes family.

“My son Declan and his wife Jenny are the happy couples. Jenny gave birth to Amelia, who is 7lbs 6oz.”

He then went on to joke: “It surprises people because they look at me and think, ‘He’s too young to be a grandfather.’

The TV star recently caused a stir amongst his fans on social media when he shared an epic throwback snap days before his new granddaughter was born.

The photo taken at Wimbledon some years ago, shows a youthful Eamonn wearing his tennis whites and posing on the famous lawn.

He also sports a dark hair do teamed with a smoldering look as he stares into the camera.

Celebs, and fans of the legendary television star, couldn’t get enough as they raced to the comments section with Anthea Turner saying: “Bloody hell mate”, along with a flame emoji.

A second follower added: “Oh my you were a good-looking fella.”
