A man grabbed a Muslim woman’s headscarf and tried to pull it off in a hate crime on the DLR last month. Police are appealing for information and looking to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.
The hate crime took place on January 20 just after 9pm on the DLR towards Poplar, Tower Hamlets, East London. The victim was stood by the train’s doors when she was approached by a man who made racial slurs about her headscarf.
A short while later, he grabbed her headscarf and tried to pull it off before ripping her rucksack off her back, causing its strap to tear.

Police are appealing for information
The British Transport Police (BTP) believes the man in the CCTV images may have information that could assist their investigation.
