A family has been left devastated after a mother died from a blood clot just days before she was able to start life saving cancer treatment.
Beata Hartwell, 43, was diagnosed with lung cancer that then spread to her brain, but died from a blood clot causing a heart attack just days before her first chemotherapy session.
Her close friend of nine years, Amanda Collins Eade from Chislehurst, has described the “heartbreaking” story of how Beata had bought wigs and headcovers ready for her cancer battle, but was unable to have the chance to start the fight.

Beata had only had one round of radiotherapy when the blood clot was discovered, which then moved causing the heart attack that took her life.
Close friend, Amanda, who is now fundraising to support the family with funeral arrangements, said: “It was all set to start. She had even bought some wigs and some covers to cover her head, and was making a joke about that.”
She told of how Beata, who was known as Betty to her loved ones, was ready for the fight, but said: “But the poor girl didn’t even get the chance to fight.”

Beata’s death was reportedly “very unexpected”, as she had made lots of plans for the future and was expecting to leave hospital soon.
Amanda said: “Beata had plans for the future, she had no plans to die. She had zero plans to die.
“They were fighting to give a fighting chance. She didn’t make any funeral plans at all.
“We knew she was in hospital, we knew she was poorly, but even on her social media she said ‘hopefully I’m going to be out next week’, she was full of plans.”

Beata had spent many years breeding and showing Tibetan Mastiffs, something which Amanda described as her “big passion”.
“She was all about showing the public that Tibetan Mastiffs aren’t the aggressive dogs that they’re sometimes made out to be,” she said.
“She was really mischievous and had a brilliant sense of humour. She was really sociable as well.
“She had lots and lots of friends. Everyone loved her because she was just so bubbly, and she always saw the positive side to everything.”

Beata, who was said to have moved about quite a lot and had recently moved to Norfolk, leaves behind two adult sons and an 18-year-old daughter, Oliwka.
Amanda has set up a GoFundMe to help Oliwka “give her mum a funeral and a fitting goodbye to a wonderful woman who was taken far too soon”.
