South Western Railway has confirmed there are major delays between Wimbledon and Surbiton after reports that a person has been struck by a train.
According to the National Rail the emergency incident happened just after midday on Thursday (January 13).
Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident which is causing all lines on the route to be blocked.
National Rail has advised that trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
In a statement on Twitter South Western Railway wrote: “We’ve been advised that emergency services are dealing with an incident between Wimbledon and Surbiton.”
Although it has not been officially confirmed it is believed the emergency inicdent is centred on Raynes Park Station in Wimbledon, Merton.
Disruptions are expected until until 5.30pm this evening.
