Traffic is being held on the A40 after reports of significant police activity on Western Avenue, London, eastbound.
The road is closed and traffic is queuing due to an accident between B456 (Medway underpass) to B456 Alperton Lane (Hoover Building). Congestion is stretching back to Greenford Roundabout.
Witness Martyn O’Brien said: “Over 20 cars whizzed past and now in gridlock.
“Police bikes and unmarked police.
“Never seen so many cars.”
Later he posted: “Avoid A40 Hanger Lane. Huge crash following police chase. Gridlock for miles.”
