A Lewisham-based charity is feeding thousands of vulnerable families this Christmas by giving away 7,000 free turkeys up and down the country.
The initiative, called #CCTurkey2021 was launched by South London grime MC and entrepreneur, Fekky, who has supported young people facing hardship through his grassroots organisation, CC Foundation.

Named after Fekky’s two sons, Capree and Cuben, CC Foundation provides support and opportunities for young people growing up in poverty in Fekky’s hometown of Lewisham.
Together with his team, they aim to give away 7,000 turkeys for free this Christmas over the space of two days.
The team have already smashed last year’s 3,500 turkey giveaway.
Today extra trucks have been driving all over the UK since 5am to deliver turkeys in Manchester, Birmingham, Leicester, Watford and Milton Keynes.
Celebrities and sporting stars such as Ed Sheeran, Wretch 32, Raheem Sterling and Anthony Joshua have publicly backed Fekky’s turkey drive.
On Thursday morning (December 23) the team began in turkey backer, Ed Sheeran’s hometown of Ipswich.
The team delivered turkeys in Lewisham, Deptford, Peckham, Catford, Tottenham, Brixton, Clapham, Stratford, Walthamstow and Dalston from 5am to 9pm on Wednesday (December 22).
So far, the team have described operation #CCTurkey2021 as an amazing experience, and have enjoyed helping people from all around the country.
Mori Abdul, co-director of CC Foundation told MyLondon: “It’s been quite amazing and very fulfilling, the meat is the most expensive part of the meal for a Christmas dinner.
“Not only have we been able to give free turkeys out, we’ve fed over 5,000 people by giving turkeys away to local organisations such as charities, food banks and community clubs.”

CC Foundation has worked closely with the Legendary Community Club in Lewisham, the club provides meals and food packages for young people and families who rely on food banks.
This is not the first time Fekky has given back to his community, having launched his turkey initiative last year and this summer, when he created the UK’s first ever laptop library in his hometown of Lewisham.
The library allows for schoolchildren to borrow laptops for schoolwork and teaches them how to use them safely – digital poverty was exposed by the pandemic when schoolchildren were forced to work from home and rely on laptops and tablets to participate in lessons and complete schoolwork.
Fekky and the CC Foundation will be back next Christmas for an even bigger turkey drive.
